The statue, designed and built by a Senegalese artist, was spotted in the player’s hometown of Bambali.

The sculpture was designed with the player in a Senegalese jersey, reminiscent of one of his celebrations during AFCON 2021.

However, it did not bear the resemblance of Mane, leaving fans of the Bayern Munich star unhappy.

Mane is revered in Senegal, after leading the West African nation to their first Africa Cup of Nation success early this year.

The 30-year-old forward joined Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window from Liverpool and has since been an important player for the German outfit.
