The 3rd Summit on Infrastructure Development Financing in Africa raised a total of 18 billion US dollars across 13 projects out of the 30 presented during the event.
The figures were announced in the “Luanda Declaration”, issued by the member states of the African Union represented at the summit.
The document was read by the summit’s spokesperson, Paulo Tecas, during the official closing ceremony.
Although the discussions and negotiations of the summit have formally concluded, the program will continue until Friday, featuring visits to several institutions, including the National Bank of Angola, the Iron Palace, and the Museum of Slavery, among others.
Over the past three days, 2,000 national and international delegates have discussed strategies to attract investment for the development of infrastructure across the African continent.
The initiative was launched by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, and co-organized by the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD).
