World’s 50 Best Restaurants: Winners of special awards
New entrant “Fyn Restaurant” was named the Best Restaurant in Africa. The restaurant, which is located in South Africa’s Cape Town, stood at 37th place overall.

Globally, the best restaurant in the world is Copenhagen’s Geranium, according to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants annual rankings.
The restaurant follows in the footsteps of fellow Danish eatery, Noma, which claimed the title last year. The rankings were announced on Monday at an awards show hosted by Stanley Tucci in London.
Geranium has a somewhat usual location. After relocating from King’s Garden in 2007, it set up shop in 2010 on the eighth floor of the city’s national soccer stadium, overlooking Flledparken gardens.
