SODIAM will hold a new rough diamond tender
SODIAM EP, the Angolan National Diamond Trading company, will hold a rough diamond tender in Luanda, Angola.
The total estimated value tendered amounts to over US$ 20m and the sale will include:
- Six exceptional single stones from the Lulo production, out of which two pinks
- Several baskets of single stones from the Catoca production
Viewings are scheduled to take place between 15 and 29 November 2021 at SODIAM’s office and the bid submission will end on 30 November 2021 at 11:00 Luanda time.
Since bids shall be exclusively submitted electronically via the SODIAM platform, non-registered companies that wish to participate in the sale are invited to register on www.sodiamsales.com
A detailed participation pack will be provided to participants.
All participants will be required to present a vaccination certificate against COVID-19 to enter the SODIAM building and to show evidence of a negative PCR test completed max 72 hours before entry to Angola.
Established in 1999, SODIAM is the State-owned company responsible for the distribution of the Angolan diamond mining output. SODIAM’s marketed assortments originate from twelve kimberlite and alluvial productions and cover the full spectrum of qualities in terms of sizes, models, purities, and colours.
In 2020, Angola exported over 7,7 million rough carats for a total value of US$ 1,013 billion, corresponding to an average price of US$/ct 130.90, positioning Angola as the world’s third largest rough diamond producer in value terms.
