Real Madrid offer £41.75m for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe
Real Madrid ‘make a cut-price offer of just £41.75m for PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe’ despite him being able to join for free next summer with just six months left on his contract, as they look to avoid a Premier League bidding war.
Real Madrid have made a cut-price big for wantaway Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.
Mbappe is now able to thrash out a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs ahead of potentially joining them on a free transfer at the end of the season.
But despite this, Italian football agent Giovanni Branchini has claimed that Madrid hope an offer of just £41.75million will be enough to tie him down this month.
Branchini told Gazzetta Dello Sport, via Marca: ‘It depends on PSG now, as Real Madrid have gone back in for Mbappe by offering 50m euros a few days ago.
‘I don’t know how this will play out. It seems to me that this move from Florentino Perez is worth watching closely.
‘It would be a shame for a player like Mbappe to move for free in the summer. I don’t know what they think about this in Paris.’
Madrid may be keen to avoid being dragged into a wage package bidding war over the summer, with a number of other elite clubs keen on the in-demand ace.
Having seen an array of offers rejected, this month is their final chance to haul negotiations over the line before the end of the season.
This campaign, Mbappe has scored 18 goals and recorded 13 assists in all competitions, underlining his status as one of the sport’s best players.
PSG return to action against Lyon in Ligue 1, and the club have not ruled out Mbappe staying put until the end of the year.
