Flashback Footage Shows Cristiano Ronaldo Is the Originator of Antony’s Trademark 360 Degrees Spin
Footage of a young Cristiano Ronaldo doing the 360 degrees spin which has become synonymous with Manchester United new signing, Antony has resurfaced on the internet.
The Premier League club splashed a whopping sum of £86 million to add Antony to their roster as the Red Devils seek to bolster their attacking options.
Antony, who was officially unveiled by the club on Thursday, September 1, is rated as one of the budding wingers in the modern game with his rare and audacious skill-set accompanied with supersonic speed making him a nightmare to defenders.
Among his truckload of skills, the 22-year-old Brazil international is renowned for a skill described as the ‘360 spin’ – where the ex-Ajax forward traps the ball with one leg before turning in a dizzying 360 degrees fashion using the other leg as pivot
But apparently, a video clip dating back to Cristiano Ronaldo’s early days with the Red Devils shows the legendary Portugese forward was the originator of the skill.
The video currently making rounds on the internet, sighted by Sports Brief, shows Ronaldo in his training outfit doing the 360 spin before shooting the ball has warmed the hearts of most United fans.
A United fan commented: “Tears I thought Antony invented it, Cristiano was truly ahead of the curve.”

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Manchester United have officially unveiled their latest acquisition, Antony following his transfer from Ajax Amsterdam for a fee of £86 million.
The 22-year-old Brazil international inked a five-year deal with the Red Devils with an option to extend for a year, becoming the fifth United signing of the summer.
Antony’s move to United sees the winger reunited with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, who has already recruited defender Lisandro Martinez from his former club.
