Cop26: the Council on investment sustainability standards is born
The creation of an International Sustainability Standards Board (Issb) was announced today at Cop26 in Glasgow by the Ifrs Foundation, an NGO that aims to set global standards to define the sustainability of corporate investments.
The Council will present a set of standards next year which will be subject to public consultation and may be transposed into national law on a voluntary basis.
Finance ministers and central bank governors from 37 countries welcomed the birth of the ISSB today in Glasgow. (HANDLE).
