The capital of Angola, Luanda, will be the stage for the 5th annual edition of the Angola Oil and Gas Conference (AOG 2024), scheduled for October 2 and 3, 2024.

Organized by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas of Angola, in partnership with Energy Capital & Power, the event promises to bring together more than 60 international industry specialists to discuss the future of the country’s oil and gas sector.

The event will be attended by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço. Among the confirmed speakers are prominent figures such as Diamantino Azevedo, Minister of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas of Angola, and Mohamed Hamel, Secretary General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) of Qatar. The event will also feature business leaders such as Sebastião Gaspar Martins, CEO of Sonangol, and Luís Fernandes, Director General of the Petroleum Derivatives Regulatory Institute (IRDP) of Angola.

AOG 2024 promises to be a unique opportunity to explore strategies for secure investment and growth in the Angolan energy sector. Participants will be able to obtain exclusive information on the latest local licensing rounds, national aspirations, corporate social responsibility, and the promotion of diversity and equality.

The event will also highlight Angola’s importance in the global oil and gas market, showcasing impressive data such as the value of crude oil exports in 2022, which reached $39.4 billion, and the value of natural gas exports, which amounted to $6.62 billion. With proven oil reserves of 9 billion barrels and an estimated daily production of 1.073 million barrels of oil per day by April 2024, Angola remains a crucial player in the global energy industry.

The conference will include a technology showcase where companies can expand their presence in Angola’s oil and gas sector by presenting innovative products and services. Additionally, there will be a gala dinner and an awards ceremony, providing participants with a chance to network with top industry professionals and celebrate best practices and success stories.

Since its inception in 2016, Energy Capital & Power has been a prominent investment platform for the African energy sector, facilitating deals worth $2.5 billion. The organization aims to promote cooperation and collaboration among different energy sectors, including solar, hydroelectric, nuclear, and hydrocarbons.
