In April, Angola’s inflation rate surpassed 28%, reaching a seven-year high, as reported recently by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). This marks the 12th consecutive increase, representing an addition of 17.61 percentage points compared to the same period last year. In March, inflation had reached 26.09% year-on-year.
To find a higher rate, one must look back to June 2017, when inflation stood at 30.51%, according to statistics from the Trading Economics website, reviewed by the Lusa Agency. The outlook for the coming months is not promising, with the consultancy Oxford Economics predicting that the rate will exceed 31% by June.
