Nigerian Aliko Dangote has regained the title of Africa’s richest man, just days after losing it to South African Johann Rupert, according to Bloomberg’s real-time billionaire index.

However, the latest change in Rupert’s valuation was -$334 million, while his year-to-date (YTD) variation is +$875 million, making him the 155th richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg index.
In contrast, Dangote’s year-to-date valuation was hit with a significant loss of $1.53 billion, despite a slight increase of $27 million in his latest valuation change.
According to the Bloomberg index, Dangote’s latest valuation change is +$144 million, and his year-to-date variation is -$1.38 billion, placing him at the 149th position on the index.
